More flexibility for visitors coming to the Seychelles through the easy online bus card purchase
Visitors coming to the Seychelles now have more flexibility to access a bus card through the easy online purchase of the Special Visitor Travel Card. This is now possible through the Seychelles Electronic Border System (SEBS) App. This is part of SPTC’s transition to 100% cashless service that will take effect on Saturday 1st July 2023.
Speaking at the signing ceremony of the contract initiating this service, Ag. CEO Geffy Zialor expressed his satisfaction for the added convenience that they are now able to give visitors.
“This is an advantage for visitors and SPTC especially as we embark on full cashless on board public buses effective 1st July 2023,” says Mr. Zialor.
The agreement was signed by the Managing Director for Travizory Border Security SA Seychelles, Middle East & Indian Ocean, Tom Marten and the Acting CEO of SPTC, Geffy Zialor on Wednesday 28th June 2023.
Travizory being the company providing the technical system for the Seychelles Electronic Border System (SEBS) App explain that they are pleased to welcome another essential service on the platform.
“It is our pleasure to include SPTC on this platform. This technology will benefit the visitors tremendously by giving them easy access to public transportation,” noted Mr. Marten.
Visitors now have the option of a 4 day bus travel card at 10 euros or and 8 day bus travel card at 20 euros. The payment is made online and the visitor collects his/her card upon arrival at an airport kiosk.
This project has been joint effort of the Ministry of Transport, SPTC management and Travizory and it will be fully operational as off July 2023.
