Market Street and Felix Paul Street closed to vehicular traffic

According to the S.I. 20 of 2022 Road Transport Act, ‘Closing of Market Street to Vehicular Traffic Order, 2022’, no vehicles shall use the Market Street and Felix Paul Street during the following time intervals ‒ weekdays from 6.30am to 5.30pm and Saturdays from 6.30am to 3pm.

Stakeholders discuss new concept design for port rehabilitation project

The lenders for the Port Victoria Rehabilitation and Extension Project (PVREP), along with the foreign consultants, are since Sunday in the country to conduct a week’s series of update meetings with the Ministry of Transport, the Seychelles Ports Authority (SPA) and other stakeholders involved in the project.

The ship repair facility-dry dock project, approved by the cabinet of ministers on October 6, 2021 after cabinet was satisfied with the results from the initial proposals of the Ministry of Transport (dated back in July 2021), and first presented to the public on October 7, 2021, is currently on track.

Seychelles’ Minister for Transport, Antony Derjacques, attended the Future Aviation Forum, an event held under the patronage of the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz at King Abdulaziz International Conference Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Motorists happy with Vehicle Testing Station’s appointment system

The Vehicle Testing Station (VTS) located along Bois de Rose Avenue has started seeing positive outcomes after introducing the appointment system.

Hans Albert, the manager at VTS, said in an interview with the local media that this is all due to the understanding of their clients.

Praslin to get new marina

Work on a new marina to berth some 50 hire crafts and other pleasure vessels is expected to start next year following the Cabinet of Ministers’ approval last week of the proposed development.

The project which will be implemented at Baie Ste Anne will form part of a greater plan for a new town centre for the Praslin district.
